Designated No. 842 S.C., our lodge was consecrated on August 21st, 1896 at the Masonic Hall on Alice Street, Brisbane by the Grand Lodge of Scotland. We played a pivotal role in forming the original Grand Lodge of Queensland in 1904.

1896

Foundation & Consecration

Lodge Sir John Lavarack was established on August 21st, 1896, designated No. 842 S.C. The consecration ceremony took place at the Masonic Hall on Alice Street, Brisbane, officiated by the Grand Lodge of Scotland.

1904

Grand Lodge Formation

Our lodge played a pivotal role in the formation of the original Grand Lodge of Queensland, cementing our place in Queensland Masonic history and helping to unite Freemasonry across the state.

1921

United Grand Lodge

The United Grand Lodge of Queensland was formed, bringing together 281 lodges across Queensland. Our lodge became part of this unified Masonic structure while maintaining our Scottish traditions.
